Within the specialist multi-disciplinary paediatric clinics based in the Yorkshire region and specifically at St James’s hospital, Libby gained experience in treating children with complex needs, which fuelled her desire to concentrate on paediatric work. She was privileged to be offered the opportunity to help set up the first trust wide gait analysis clinic offering biomechanical assessment for patients affected by cerebral palsy, stroke and other conditions affecting their mobility.

Relocating back to Scotland after starting her family she continued her career with NHS Lanarkshire as a specialist orthotist and she continues within this role. Here, Libby works across paediatric and adult services offering specialist orthotic services to patients who have complex needs requiring multi-disciplinary interventions.

With her husband, Libby also works in her own private practice, Sport Orthotics which forms part of their wider healthcare business The Treatment Hub, located in Lanarkshire and Glasgow. Additionally, as part of her practice Libby works with Technology in Motion, treating infants who have head shape deformities and finds this to be complimentary to her other NHS and private roles.

The flexibility of her work pattern gives her and her husband time to bring up their 5 wonderful children whilst retaining and developing her career. Outside of work, Libby enjoys spending time at home, loving the chaos of family life with 5 children and a dog. She also loves to run, especially in the rain!
