Payment

  • Full payment is due at the time of assessment / order.
  • When a clinical assessment is made, full payment for the assessment appointment is required regardless of whether a product is supplied or not.
  • For known 'standard custom products', the full price is required at the time of order. This is non refundable.
  • If at assessment, a non standard custom brace is indicated, the clinical assessment fee is payable at the time of appointment. An estimate quote for the product to be supplied will be sought and a deposit of 75% of the estimated cost is required before an order will be placed. The balance and any further clinical appointment fees are payable on supply of the product. These costs are non refundable.
  • For plagiocephaly cranial remoulding treatment, the full fee is payable at the time of order however, if preferred a non refundable deposit can be paid at the time of assessment / order. The balance is payable on fitting of the helmet at the start of treatment. One helmet is regarded as a single treatment.
  • We require a valid purchase order from the payer for customers who are being funded by a third party i.e. an NHS Trust, charity or company before an order can be placed.
  • For those who are fund raising and require time to pay, a binding agreement will be entered into before an order can be placed.

Returns / Refunds

Ready made / off the shelf products.

In the unlikely event that you are not completely satisfied with your product, subject to the following conditions you can return it to us up to 14 days after you receive your goods.

  • The cost of your product includes the clinical assessment. If you wish to return a product, we will refund only the product cost, not the clinical assessment fee.
  • Returned goods must be in pristine resalable condition, guaranteed infection free and in their original packaging.
  • Soiled, custom manufactured, modified or obsolete product or goods supplied more than 28 days previously will not be accepted for a refund.
  • Technology in Motion Ltd. reserves the right to charge a restocking fee of 20% on returned goods.
  • We will not refund postage costs.
  • Products that are bought from the Össur web shop without a clinical assessment and are found not to be appropriate can be exchanged after a clinical assessment with us provided that the products are in pristine condition as above. In these situations, a clinical assessment fee will be charged.
  • Other web bought products will not be accepted for return by Technology in Motion Ltd.
  • Failure to comply with any part of this policy may result in us declining to restock and refund for the product.
  • If a ready made product supplied by Technology in Motion Ltd has a manufacturing defect the product will be replaced within its warranty period.

Custom Made products.

As they are made for you individually, all custom made products are non returnable and non refundable. In the unlikely event of a custom product not fitting correctly, we will have the product reworked or remade at the clinician’s discretion to ensure a clinically correct outcome.

Plagioephaly treatment.

Technology in Motion offers a free, no obligation assessment for infants over 16 weeks of age. If a parent wishes to take up treatment for their baby, the whole fee is payable at the time of agreement. If wished, an initial deposit can be made. This deposit is non refundable.

The balance is payable on fitting of the helmet.

In the unlikely eventuality of your baby not accepting the helmet for whatever reason and treatment being abandoned, we will refund 50% of the whole treatment cost up to two weeks after fitting the helmet on its return to the clinic or centre of our choice. Authorisation must be issued by Technology in Motion Ltd prior to goods being returned. Please contact your clinic centre for instructions on returning the helmet to us. No refund for treatment will be made later than two weeks after fitting of the helmet.

In the unlikely event of an infant requiring a second helmet, this is regarded as a second treatment and the full treatment cost is payable.

Single patient use

It is a Condition of Sale that all orthopaedic products supplied by Technology in Motion Ltd. are strictly 'Single Use Only' by the originally fitted patient in order to protect the care provider and the patient against potentially adverse consequences of infectious disease transmission or material instability resulting from previous use by the original wearer. Any expressed or implied warranties are voided if the orthosis is re-used for another patient.

Any orthosis purchased from Technology in Motion Ltd. must be prescribed and applied by a qualified clinician to ensure that it meets the needs of the particular patient and accomplishes the desired results.
